The laboratory focuses on applied basic research and discussion of experimental teaching method, and strives to build a basic, comprehensive and innovative experimental teaching system with ability cultivation as the core. At present, it undertakes the experimental teaching of 25 courses such asMechanics of Materials,Engineering Mechanics,Theoretical Mechanics andStructural Mechanics, and a total of 147 experimental projects. In the past five years, there are 27 new basic experimental projects and 11 comprehensive experimental projects. The laboratory mainly carries out research on the basic theory and experimental techniques of the influence of engineering materials and processing technology on the mechanical properties of components, and research on the dynamic and static mechanical properties of new materials and functional composite materials under high and low temperature conditions. The laboratory now has the basic mechanics laboratory of 100 m2 (5), professional laboratory of 100 m2 (4), fatigue testing machine room of 50 m2, one large structural laboratory of 1700 m2, which has been divided into different functional areas, and another professional practice site of 1100 m2. At present, there are 1110 sets of the equipment, among which large equipment includes INSTRON electronic universal testing machine, tensile and torsion combination testing machine, 3D scanner, dynamic thermo-mechanical analyzer, vibration test modal analysis system, 3D printer, etc.
